About RTCU

The Research, Training, and Consultancy (RTC) unit at the Institute of Engineering (IOE), Tribhuvan University, plays a role in bridging academic expertise with practical, field-oriented requirements. The unit’s primary objectives center around conducting and facilitating research, providing technical training, and offering consultancy services at both national and international levels. It serves as a hub for innovation and knowledge transfer, ensuring that technical manpower development aligns with the evolving needs of the country and beyond.

Through this unit, the IOE engages in collaborative research with universities and research centers globally, promoting the exchange of ideas and technical advancements. The RTC unit also offers technical support and testing services, making it a resourceful asset for industries, government bodies, and private enterprises. Additionally, the consultancy services provided by RTC enable public and private sector organizations to access IOE’s large pool of expertise.

Current Projects


Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) is developing and implementing the TUTH HMIS Project under its IT Master Plan. RTCU is providing consultancy services for procurement and technical evaluation, including assessment of existing infrastructure, updating HMIS studies, preparing technical specifications, and evaluating deliverables.


This project involves the complete supply and installation of IT equipment, networking, and Data Center setup for the Deposit and Credit Guarantee Fund (DCGF). It includes supervision, labor, tools, equipment, accessories, testing, and commissioning of the IT infrastructure system to ensure acceptable operation.


The Examination Control Division (ECD) at the Institute of Engineering (IOE), Tribhuvan University, manages extensive examination operations. EMERPS facilitates online marks entry and result processing for undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programs across multiple campuses and affiliated colleges, streamlining exams from Bachelor’s to PhD levels, including entrance examinations.
